How Star Battle works: the grid, the zones and the one rule about touching, explained calmly with turtles instead of stars.
The grid
A Star Battle board is a square grid divided into coloured zones. A 1-star board has as many zones as rows.
Rows, columns and zones
Every row, every column and every zone holds exactly the same number of turtles: one, two or three, depending on the variant.
No touching
Two turtles may never sit next to each other, not side by side and not diagonally.
One solution
Every board on Puzzle Turtle has exactly one solution, so you can always reach it by reasoning, without guessing.
