Calm Star Battle strategy: small zones first, the squares around a turtle, zones locked in a row, and when to lay pebbles.
Begin with the smallest zone
A zone of only a few squares leaves little choice. Look for squares that every possible position would block.
Clear around every turtle
Once a turtle is certain, the eight squares around it can all take a pebble, as can the rest of its row, column and zone.
Zones that fill a row
When one or more zones lie entirely within the same rows, those rows are taken by them. Every other square in those rows gets a pebble.
Lay pebbles generously
Marking where a turtle cannot be is most of the work. Drag across squares to lay many pebbles at once.
